Sausage Crescent Rolls are a quick breakfast idea for busy weekday mornings, a lazy Sunday or even entertaining company. With only 4 main ingredients, you can whip this quick breakfast in no time at all.
Look no further for a quick breakfast idea! Sausage Crescent Rolls are an easy breakfast idea packed with protein. A breakfast of champions!
There is no debating it, breakfast IS the most important meal of the day! Think about it, you’ve just gone seven or more hours without sustenance. Its name hails from “breaking the fast.”
Why do so many people skip breakfast?
Mornings are hard. I get it. Not everyone jumps out of bed like Snow White with birds chirping and sometimes that extra slap of the snooze button for 15 minutes more shut eye is worth sacrificing breakfast.
With my quick Sausage Crescent Rolls you can hit snooze and still have a protein packed breakfast!
Whether you are making your Sausage Crescent Rolls the morning of or making them ahead of time, they only take 5 simple ingredients: Smithfield Fresh Breakfast Sausage, eggs, milk, cheese and refrigerated crescent dough.
With the time it takes to cook the sausage and scramble your eggs, the oven will be preheated and ready to bake.
Sausage Crescent Rolls also gives you the flexibility to make them the night before. You can cook your Smithfield sausage, scramble your eggs, even assemble your crescent rolls ahead of time.
Just bake in the morning! You can even freeze them after cooking and microwave for a super quick and easy meal!
Customize your breakfast crescent rolls by picking which flavor of Smithfield Fresh Breakfast Sausage to use: Maple, Bacon or Hometown Original.
From there, match a cheese or use what you have leftover in the deli drawer, a great way to use up those odds and ends! My personal favorite is Hometown Original with a sharp cheddar cheese.
Now the only question left to ask is…. Do you like your Sausage Crescent Rolls with or without ketchup?
Hubby and I don’t agree on this at all! I’m a hardcore believer that eggs should not be mixed with ketchup. Hehehe.

Sausage Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
- 8 Smithfield Fresh Breakfast Sausage links
- 4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 roll refrigerated crescent dough
- Fine sea salt and freshly ground pepper
- chives for garnish, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, season with fine sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
- In a medium skillet, heat the Smithfield fresh breakfast sausage over medium-high heat, rotating until fully cooked, approximately 5 minutes.
- Add the whisked eggs to the same skillet. The sausage renderings will flavor the eggs and prevent sticking. Stir while cooking to make scrambled eggs, remove from heat when eggs are firm. Remove the eggs and set aside.
- Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough. Equally divide the scrambled eggs, shredded cheese and one fresh sausage link into each crescent, roll it up and place it on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Baked for 12-14 minutes, or until tops are lightly browned. Remove and serve

whoah this blog is great i love reading your posts. Keep up the good work!Loved this recipe too!
Do we remove the sausages after they are done, or add the eggs in the skillet along with the sausages? Also, please forgive my editing eye….”present” should say “prevent”, no?
Thanks for catching that! Remove the sausage- I just updated it.
Can I make these in advance and freeze before baking?
Happy holidays, Wendy. Yes- you can freeze them before baking.
Can I get to the point where the sausages are wrapped. And then freeze them? If yes how do I cook from frozen, how long and at what oven temp? Or should I thaw before cooking?
You can, but I haven’t done this personally. I would place them in the oven frozen at 350°F for about 15-20 minutes, just check them regularly to make sure they are heated through.
Can these be frozen?
Sure can!
These are so easy and so good. Even my daughter loved them and she does not like eggs.
Yay! Thanks for letting us know, Sam. Glad your daughter enjoyed them <3
