What to Grab at the Store

This isn’t your average scrambled eggs on toast. These breakfast sliders are stacked with layers of flavor and ooey-gooey goodness! A full list of ingredients with measurements is available in the printable recipe card below.

  • Eggs – These are the fluffy, protein-packed foundation to the sliders. Scramble them gently for the softest texture.
  • Heavy Cream – Just a splash of cream totally elevates the texture of the eggs.
  • Hawaiian Slider Rolls – The sweet flavor of these rolls pairs perfectly with the salty meats and melty cheese.
  • Honey Ham – This variety of ham adds savory flavor with a little bit of sweetness. Thin slices work best to layer evenly across the rolls.
  • Cheddar Cheese – Sharp cheddar adds just the right amount of bite to cut through the richness of the bacon, ham, and eggs. Use sliced, shredded, or a mix!
  • Bacon – This salty, smoky, and crispy goodness takes these sliders over the top.
  • Unsalted Butter – Use unsalted so you can control the seasoning — the bacon, ham, and cheese will add plenty of saltiness.
  • Brown Sugar – A little brown sugar gives the butter glaze a hint of sweetness that complements the bacon and ham.
  • Dijon Mustard – This mustard adds a tangy kick to the sauce.
  • Garlic Powder – Garlic gives the sliders an extra layer of savory flavor.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – This is the secret ingredient that adds an umami boost. Just a splash goes a long way.
  • Fine Sea Salt – A little sprinkle of salt helps to bring out the flavors of the other ingredients.

Time to Make the Magic Happen

These breakfast sliders may look fancy, but they’re surprisingly easy to pull together.

  1. Whisk the eggs and cream. In a bowl, beat the eggs with the heavy cream until smooth and a little frothy.
  2. Scramble the eggs. Melt a little butter in a skillet and gently cook the eggs just until they’re just set.
  3. Slice the rolls. Keep all the Hawaiian rolls together and use a serrated knife to slice them in half like a giant sandwich.
  4. Layer the bottoms. Set the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  5. Stack it up. Arrange the ham, half the cheese, the scrambled eggs, and bacon on top of the bread. Then, top with the rest of the cheese. Then place the roll tops over the layers.
  6. Mix the butter sauce. Mix together the brown sugar, Dijon, garlic powder, Worcestershire, and salt until combined. Then microwave the mixture in intervals until melted.
  7. Brush generously. Pour or brush the butter mixture all over the tops of the rolls, letting it soak into the bread.
  8. Bake covered. Pop the pan into the oven, covered with foil, so everything gets hot without browning too fast.
  9. Uncover and finish. Take the foil off and bake a little longer so the tops get golden and slightly crisp.
  10. Slice and serve. Cut into individual sliders and serve hot.

5S Philosophy 👩🏻‍🍳

    • Salt – Sea salt brings balance to the richness of the cheese, eggs, and meats. It’s the little extra step that pulls the whole sandwich together. Plus, the bacon and ham bring their own salty goodness to the table.

    • Seasoning – Garlic powder gives the glaze a savory punch of flavor, while Dijon mustard adds tanginess.

    • Sauces – The buttery glaze is sweet and savory and soaks into the buns, taking these sliders to the next level.

    • Swaps – Swap ham for turkey or sausage, or try Swiss or pepper jack instead of cheddar. And if you don’t have Worcestershire, a dash of soy sauce can work in a pinch.

    • Senses – You’ll smell the magic as soon as these hit the oven — warm, garlicky butter with hints of smoky bacon and sweet rolls. Once you cut into them, that stretchy, melted cheese will have you ready to start the day!

What Goes Great With It

These breakfast sliders are hearty, so we like to keep the sides light. A big bowl of fruit salad is perfect for balancing out the richness. If you want something savorty, try potatoes O’brien or crispy home fries.

For drinks, try mimosas, a French martini, or an orange crush. Or get caffeinated with a vanilla sweet cream cold brew or dalgona coffee

Storage and Freezing

Wrap any leftover breakfast sliders tightly and store them in the fridge or freezer, depending on when you plan to eat them.

How to Store

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to keep the buns from getting soggy.

Can I Freeze Breakfast Sliders?

Let the sliders cool, wrap them individually in foil, then pop them into a freezer-safe bag. Reheat straight from frozen for an easy breakfast any time.

Your Questions Answered

Can I make breakfast sliders the night before?

Yes! Just assemble them fully, cover tightly, and store in the fridge overnight. Bake them fresh in the morning for an easy hot breakfast.

How do I keep the sliders from getting soggy?

Don’t overdo the butter glaze and be sure to bake them uncovered at the end so the tops crisp up. Reheating in the oven also helps.

Can I make these vegetarian?

Sure — just skip the ham and bacon and instead pile on sauteed mushrooms, spinach, or even roasted red peppers and onions. If you’re looking to skip the eggs, too, just scramble up your favorite egg substitute.

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Whisk together the eggs with the heavy cream until frothy.
  • In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter. Pour in the eggs and using a rubber spatula, scramble until the are just set. Do not overcook them because they will cook a little more in the oven. Remove from the heat and set aside.

  • Place the bottom layer of rolls in a 9×13 pan.
