5S Philosophy 👩🏻
- Salt – Most people are surprised to hear that homemade italian seasoning doesn’t contain salt. Feel free to add in some fine sea salt if it suits you.
- Seasonings – People are also usually surprised that it contains no garlic. If you’d like to take the flavor up a notch, try adding garlic powder.
- Sauces – If you add some good quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar, this homemade italian seasoning becomes the perfect bread dip.
- Swaps – Want to make fresh italian Seasoning? It is easy! Just grab the same fresh herbs and chop them up into equal parts. The general rule for dried herbs to fresh herbs is 1 tablespoon of fresh for teaspoon of dried.
- Senses – Italian seasoning is a fragrant blend of dried herbs that awakens the senses. When sprinkled into dishes, it imparts a deep, herbaceous flavor—savory, slightly sweet, and kissed with a hint of citrusy brightness—transforming ordinary meals into comforting, rustic Italian creations

Storage and Freezing
I keep mine for no longer than six months, so that’s why this recipe is a little smaller. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature. If you’re using large quantities or making it for gifts, you can certainly double or triple the recipe!
Sure! To extend its shelf life even further, consider storing it in the freezer, where it can stay fresh and flavorful for up to a year.
