Fun Swaps

It’s super easy to make this sparkling peach sangria your own. Here are a few fun suggestions.

  • Non alcoholic – If you’d like to cut out the alcohol, simply omit the wine and add a sparkling water. You can use a plain flavor or a fruity flavor to complement the fruits you add.
  • Change up the fruits – My favorites here are obviously fresh peaches, since it is a peach sangria, but blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and other summer fruits are also great!
  • Make it stronger – If you like your drinks a little stronger, try adding a little peach schnapps, orange liqueur or any other fruit liquor like triple sec.

Storage and Freezing

Can I make white wine sangria ahead of time?

You can make it up to an hour before serving, but like any carbonated drink, it will lose its bubbles if prepared too far in advance.

How to store?

Store any leftover sparkling peach sangria in the refrigerator. Keep in mind, the fruit will get soggy and the carbonation will become flat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between champagne, sparkling wine and white wine?

In most recipes, such as this one, they can all be used interchangeably.

Champagne is a sparkling white wine that comes from the champagne region of France. In order to be considered champagne, it must come from this region, however many people refer to any sparkling white as champagne.

Sparkling wine is any wine, white or red, with carbonation. Champagne is a sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wines are champagne.

White wine is wine made from white grapes. It typically does not have carbonation or bubbles.

Do you suggest a specific type of white wine?

Nope- your choice. I like a dry sparkling wine, but if I am going sans the bubbles, a dry white wine, sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio are good bets.

Questions and Reviews

  1. I love reading Southern Living for the nostalgia factor, I haven’t lived in the south for a long time now.

  2. I enjoy reading Southern Living! Being from the South,I love to check out recipes, get new ideas!

  3. Love Southern Living first and foremost, but Sunset and Real Simple are good seconds! SL always has such wonderful recipes, a good mix of slow cook, grill, baked, casseroles and lovely Southern desserts. Rick Bragg page either makes me crack up with laughter or crying, depending upon subject matter, but he’s wonderful. And I love the Grumpy Gardener – always!

  4. I like to read In Style, because their outfits and accessories are priced for the average person. There are actually things I CAN buy in that magazine. They also have great make-up and skin care ideas.
