Strawberry Jalapeño Crostini are a sweet heat perfect for a quick snack or entertaining. Sweet, spicy and savory, they are the perfect blend!

There are certain things that I crave when it comes to food and pairings. My all-time favorite since I was a little kid and the one I want on a daily basis is sweet and spicy.

Sweet heat is my absolute favorite. New Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeño Fruit Spread gives me those notes that I am seeking using better-for-you ingredients.

Look at these cute little crostini! They are fancy, sophisticated, and are unbelievably simple to prepare. All you need is 5 ingredients.

Well, six really if you count the Maldon sea salt, but since I consider salt a basic ingredient, it doesn’t count. (Insert smiley face here.)  The other ingredients are pretty exciting too.

Crostini are an Italian appetizer consisting of little toasts and toppings. Now, just because these originated in Italy, doesn’t mean you can’t play around with flavors. As you can imagine, the options are absolutely endless.

In terms of the toasts, some grocery stores will carry them pre-made. If you can’t locate those, don’t sweat it. Instead, grab a loaf of French bread or a baguette, slice it thin, and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Voila, the base for your crostini

You can also use crackers, like Wasa Crackers. All-natural, crunchy and wholesome, Wasa Crackers are thin and super crispy.

This means you get to chow down on even more delicious Strawberry Jalapeño Crostini.

I know the combination of strawberry and jalapeno might be a little jarring at first, but I can guarantee you will love it. The heat from jalapeno comes mainly from the seeds. These have been removed so it is a subtle heat.

I will admit, the last ingredient can be a bit challenging to find, but it is so much fun and will really give the WOW factor: raw honeycomb.

Honeycomb perfectly complements Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeño Fruit Spread because it really amplifies the honey and the strawberry flavors in the spread. Plus it looks really cool!

I like to set it out next to my tray of Strawberry Jalapeño Crostini so everyone can see the whole honeycomb slab. Honeycomb is 100% edible which makes it a beautiful and super special garnish.
