Whether you prefer dijon, yellow or brown mustard, there are so many uses for it! Perfect for topping burger and hot dogs, or as a dipping sauce!
What is mustard?
In it’s most basic form, it is made from ground mustard seeds, water, lemon juice or other liquids, plus some spices and seasonings. Those ingredients are used to make a paste like substance.
Other than ketchup (and maybe mayo,) mustard is arguably one of the most popular condiments. Most commonly used to top burgers and hot dogs, it is so much more than just a topping by itself!
These are the most popular uses for it:
- as a condiment
- a sandwich spread
- in dressings
- to make glazes
- in sauces
- to make soups
- to make marinades
While you might be most familiar with the traditional yellow mustard, there are actually many more variations:
- Dijon
- English
- French
- spicy brown
- beer
- whole grain
- honey
- hot
- sweet
Each has their own specific purpose or use, and can be used in a variety of different ways!
