What are marshmallows?
In their basic form, marshmallows are a type if sweet that is made from sugar, water and gelatin. Those ingredients are whipped to make a squishy, airy consistency.
They are used to make many desserts, and even sometimes top a Thanksgiving classic: sweet potato casserole!
Some things that they are used to make are:
- a filling in cakes and cookies
- eaten by themselves (either plain or toasted)
- stuffed inside chocolate candies
- and many others
